Displaced Families in Buthidaung Allowed to Return, But Homes Are Gone

People from Ward 1 of Buthidaung can finally return home nearly a year after the Terrorist Moghbagi (AA) burned their houses. Out of 781 families, only around 200 are still there. Many others have left, seeking safety in countries like Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia. Those who could not afford to escape remained in Buthidaung, struggling to survive.

The biggest problem now is housing. Most homes were destroyed by the AA, leaving people without shelter. Many are forced to stay in makeshift huts or with relatives. Rebuilding will be difficult without support, as most families lost everything.

Living under the control of the AA is also a major challenge. People face strict rules, fear, and uncertainty about their future. They have little freedom and struggle to meet their daily needs. The situation remains dangerous, and many still hope to find a way out.
