Bangladesh has sent a second shipment of emergency relief and medical supplies to help the victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Myanmar. The aid mission was dispatched on Tuesday morning, following the instructions of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. Three transport aircraft from the Bangladesh Army (BA) and the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) carried essential supplies, including food, medicine, and hygiene products, to support those affected by the disaster.

The relief mission includes a dedicated team of 55 rescuers and medical personnel. These teams consist of experts from the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with doctors from the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) and civilian medical professionals. Additionally, 37 crew members were onboard the three aircraft to ensure the smooth transportation and delivery of aid. The teams have brought their own essential items, such as rations, hygiene supplies, communication equipment, and cooking utensils, to sustain themselves while carrying out rescue and medical operations.

As part of the aid package, Bangladesh has sent eight tonnes of dry food, 2.5 tonnes of drinking water, four tonnes of medicine, one tonne of hygiene products, and 1.5 tonnes of relief tents. These supplies are expected to provide immediate relief to earthquake survivors who are struggling with a shortage of food, clean water, and shelter. The mission aims to provide urgent medical assistance to those injured and help prevent the spread of diseases in the affected areas.

This is the second relief effort by Bangladesh in response to the earthquake in Myanmar. On Sunday, the first shipment of aid, which included medicines, tents, dry food, and medical teams, was sent under the leadership of the Bangladesh Army. The continued support from Bangladesh highlights its commitment to helping its neighbor in times of crisis and strengthening regional humanitarian cooperation.
