Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA)Press Release. Date 25,4,2025. We, the Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA), express our deep concern over a series of recent defamatory campaigns against our organization. It has come to our attention that a few unethical journalists from two prominent electronic and print media outlets in the country are spreading false and misleading information about ARA. These reports are being circulated based on bribes and manipulation by some of our former members who were previously expelled from our organization for engaging in extortion and drug trafficking. We would like to state in the clearest terms:The Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA) is in no way involved in any activities that go against the laws or security of Bangladesh. We are strictly against all forms of criminal activity, including drug trafficking and human smuggling. ARA has no association with such acts. Our sole mission is to work toward the safe, dignified, and sustainable repatriation of the Rohingya people back to Myanmar. The individuals spreading this propaganda were expelled from ARA due to serious breaches of discipline. They now seek to tarnish our image and hinder our legitimate efforts, using some media platforms to aid their agenda. We call upon the authorities of Bangladesh, the media, the general public, and especially the Rohingya community to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such false narratives. Let us continue working together toward a peaceful and just resolution for the Rohingya people. The Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA) remains committed to peace, stability, and cooperation—now and always.
