Chattogram, Bangladesh – A large shipment of food aid has arrived in Bangladesh to help Rohingya refugees. This week, 17,000 metric tons of food reached the port in Chattogram. The food was grown by American farmers and will be distributed by the World Food Programme (WFP). This support is part of the United States’ ongoing help for more than one million Rohingya refugees.

The Rohingya people, who fled violence in Myanmar, are living in refugee camps in Bangladesh. Many of them struggle to get enough food every day. The U.S. has been providing food aid regularly to support these refugees. This latest shipment will help ease hunger in the camps, but more support is needed.

The United States has been a strong supporter of the Rohingya crisis response. However, the need for food and other aid is still very high. To make sure all refugees get enough support, the U.S. is calling on other countries and international organizations to give more help. More donations will help share the responsibility and make sure the refugees do not suffer from hunger.

Humanitarian groups and the Bangladeshi government are working together to distribute the food to the refugees. The WFP and other aid groups are urging the global community to continue their support. Without more aid, many Rohingya families may face serious food shortages in the coming months.
