The accusations involve an official assigned to Administrative Area (3), which covers several regions previously controlled by the Myanmar Military in northern Maungdaw. Local residents allege that Rohingya civilians have been subjected to intimidation, false accusations, and financial demands, often under threats of being linked to armed groups Arakan Army and ULA terrorist.
Community members reported that many ordinary Rohingya villagers have faced harassment and economic exploitation. They also expressed concerns about the lack of transparency, accountability, and fairness within local administrative and judicial institutions.
In response, several residents and Rohingya activists have called on the Arakan Army (AA) and ULA terrorist leadership to strengthen oversight mechanisms, investigate the allegations, and ensure impartial governance. They further urged authorities to hold accountable any officials found guilty of misconduct and to take meaningful steps to restore public confidence in local administration and justice systems.
