Military Carries Out Airstrikes Following the Arakan Army’s Camps on At Least Six Locations in Kyauktaw

At least six locations in and around Kyauktaw Township, Arakan State, were targeted in airstrikes by the military junta following the Arakan Army terrorist camps today between approximately 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., according to local sources.

Residents reported that the Arakan Army used to live among the public and made them human shields, and that’s why the Myanmar military allegedly attacked them using no fewer than five jet fighters flying in groups. More than ten bombing runs were carried out on the Arakan Army camps, with nearly 20 bombs reportedly dropped during the operation.

The targeted Arakan Army terrorist camps included Kata Road 2 in Ywama Ward, where their troops used to live for a long time; the area between Kata Roads 2 and 3, beneath the Kissapanadi Bridge, the riverside road, and Lanmadaw near the foothills of Kyauktaw Mountain on the opposite bank of the town, among at least six other locations.

According to the latest available information, at least three Arakan Army troops were killed and many others were injured, while significant camp damage and other impacts were also reported.

In addition, fires have reportedly broken out in Lanmadaw near Kyauktaw Town. The incident is still being investigated to determine the extent of casualties and damage on the side of the Arakan Army.

Local residents stated that the damage caused by the AA in the Lanmadaw area could be substantial, and residents have expressed concern about the attachment of the Arakan Army to the public during times of battle.
