Myanmar Prime Minister Meets Chief Advisor in Bangkok

Myanmar Prime Minister MiGroupn Aung Hlaing met with Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus on Friday. The meeting took place at Professor Yunus’s hotel during the sixth BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Yunus shared his sympathy with the people of Myanmar. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the recent earthquake on March 28. Many people were killed and injured in the disaster. He also talked about the help given by Bangladesh after the earthquake. Bangladesh sent rescue teams to Myanmar to support the victims. Professor Yunus said Bangladesh is ready to send more help if needed. “Our ships are ready,” he said.
Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing thanked Bangladesh for its support. He also congratulated Professor Yunus for becoming the new chairman of BIMSTEC. He said he hoped the group would grow stronger under Bangladesh’s leadership. Both leaders agreed to continue working together. They said regional unity and support are important, especially in times of crisis.
